Ummmm .
No.
If you mean wrapping the whole thing in aluminum foil, absolutely not. And depending on the age of your router, like this one from the late 80's, that had an internal fan for cooling, you could damage it beyond repair, it would overheat.
Some people think hanging little foils “flags” from the external antennas help.
Theoretically, if you precisely cut the aluminum foil to precise dimensions, it could help. But the odds of doing more harm then good or very high. This goes back to the throwback days of broadcast TV, no cable. Every baby-boomer will remember these, as well as parents instructing their ORC devices (Organic Remote Control), aka, the children, on how to turn/position the antenna for best reception, as well as get up and change the channel.
But broadcast TV operates in the VHF band between 54–216 MHz, the only channels the aluminum foils flags were useful on (although, as an adult, I wonder how much they helped, as opposed to a fruitless quest for a perfect picture.
At WiFi frequencies, 100 time higher thatbthe highest VHF channel, and consequently 1/100 the wave length, around 125 millimeters, you could never make a flag precise enough to be useful.
